The opportunity

The Senior Data and Integration Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading the technical development and operational support of the DAI Platform at MinRes. This platform will empower operational and corporate data reporting, analytics, and AI-driven insights.

You will have the ability to lead technical initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide strategic input to ensure the platform meets the evolving needs of the business. The role is central to enabling efficient data processing, modern integration patterns, real-time analytics, and supporting data-driven decision-making across MinRes.

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and optimisation of the DIA Platform, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and highly performant.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient data pipelines within the DIA Platform using tools such as Databricks, Delta Lake, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Develop and maintain robust integration solutions that enable seamless data flow and interoperability between internal systems, cloud platforms, and third party applications.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs, and translate those into actionable data models, dashboards, and visualisations. Continuously optimise analytics workflows to improve business outcomes.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of the platform.

What is required?

  • Formal qualifications in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.  
  • Certifications in cloud data engineering and architecture are highly desirable. Relevant cloud platform certifications (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, AWS and/or Azure) are highly desirable.
  • Senior experience in data engineering, integration, and analytics, including substantial hands-on experience with cloud-based platforms such as Azure and AWS, and technologies like DataBricks and Databricks Delta Lake.
  • Proven experience leading the development and optimisation of large-scale data platforms and implementing automation for data pipelines and AI/ML workflows.
  • Strong background in cloud technologies, with proficiency in AWS and/or Azure (including S3/Blob Storage, Lambda/Azure functions) and experience with tools like, Kafka, and MLOps pipelines.
  • Experience in integrating AI/ML models into production environments, with a focus on enabling data-driven decision-making and predictive analytics.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across teams to deliver technical solutions that meet business needs.
