The Opportunity
Our Metallurgy team at Wodgina are seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist for an 18‑month fixed‑term contract on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster. Reporting to the Superintendent Metallurgy, you will provide technical leadership and operational support to improve plant performance, reduce processing costs, and drive continuous improvement.

This is a hands‑on role where you will work closely with Processing, Maintenance, and other operational teams to ensure safety, production and quality targets are consistently met in line with MinRes values.

Key responsibilities 

• Monitor and optimise metallurgical performance of the processing plant, including grinding, classification, flotation, and dewatering processes.
• Provide relevant technical support to production teams across site.
• Perform field safety interactions, hazard reporting, and critical risk management verifications.
• Monitor and enhance plant performance through analysis of operational data.
• Complete metallurgical accounting and report performance against forecasts and budgets.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and carry out projects to optimise performance, reduce costs, and improve safety.
• Supervise, support and mentor metallurgists and metallurgical technicians.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent
• Experience with oxide or base metal flotation
• Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.

About Wodgina
The Wodgina lithium operation is located 120km south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. MinRes manages all mining operations at Wodgina, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an annual capacity of 900,000 tonnes (SC5.5).
